Your Majesty,

I am pleased to extend to you my very best greetings and most sincere wishes for continued good health. As I had written to you before explaining the situation in Sri Lanka there still seems to be an extensive amount of problems. The Tsunami victims of the North East are still not receiving any funds. The Government of Sri Lanka persistent on being partial to certain parts of the country. I request Your Majesty kindly to take firm action and urge the Government to spread whatever aid equally. The Government needs to be in agreement with the joint mechanism so that the aid going from International Organization will be put to good use.

Another important point I would like to stress on is the death of a famous Tamil journalist who was shot and his body found lying near a high security zone. It is very unfortunate that the people of Sri Lanka still cannot be at peace. We need your help and the help of the Norwegian Government. I feel that there are minor antisocial groups that are involved in these killings. It has also come to my attention that there are threats to the life of other journalists abroad and in Sri Lanka. Although there are monitoring groups it does not make any difference, people are still under threat for their life. It is a great concern that my country suffers such mishaps. Our country’s greatest need at this moment is the intervention of Your Majesty and the Norwegian Government.

One of Norway’s peace envoys Mr. Eric Solheim has had several meetings in the last few years with the Tamil Leader Mr. V. Pirapaharan and the President of Sri Lanka but there does not seem to be a definite decision from the government to make any peace and sign no sort of agreement. Promises were made, unfortunately no action taken. I know that Norway’s cease fire regulation has helped but the government has not done anything to protect innocent people from the wrath of death. I request you to kindly give us your guidance in trying to achieve peace in Sri Lanka. I anticipate a positive reply.

May God Bless You,

Yours sincerely,

Sgnd/. Prince Remigius Kanagarajah
