Personal Standard of H.R.H Raja Remigius Jerry Kanagarajah of Jaffna

The Personal Standard

In 2005, The Raja of Jaffna adopted a Personal Standard, which is quit separate from the Royal Standard. In the centre of the Personal Standard is the Royal Coat of Arms and the Personal Standard is saffron in colour (golden yellow), with a maroon inner border. The Personal Standard is personal to him alone and can be flown by no one other than The Raja of Jaffna.

The Royal Standard of the Arya Cakravarti, Kings of Jaffna, was the victorious Bull Standard. The symbols on the Royal Standard are the bull (Nandi) couchant, in the centre above the bull is a white parasol bordered with golden tassels and white pearls, single conch and the crescent moon with a golden sun.

The Royal Standard is saffron in colour (golden yellow), with a white inner border. The colours, which have been chosen for the Royal Coat of Arms, the Royal Standard and for the Personal Standard, are auspicious colours.
