THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY
HRH RAJA REMIGIUS KANAGARAJAH OF JAFFNA

With respect to political issues, I hope on 17th January 2015, the parliamentary election will be conducted in a free and fair manner. Every citizen of Sri Lanka has a right to vote and your single vote can help select the right candidate.

The young people are the future of our country. The time has come, we have to inspire more the young people to get involved in politics to help build a better country. Young people should be given the opportunity to.

People who are entitled to vote should cast their votes as they pleased. A politician is elected to serve the public. In past years, with growing political corruption, our people are being driven away from voting as they team all politicians the same. To run the country you need to elect a relatively good candidate and it is your responsibility to cast your valuable vote wisely to elect the right candidate.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all candidates the best of luck in this election.
